Suggest Treatment For White Skin Tag On Tongue

I have a white skin tag on my tongue. It is located on the left area of my tongue and has grown in size over the last 6 months. I am scheduled to have it removed by my dentist in a couple of days in order for a biopsy . This tag sticks straight up and does not hurt. I know that he will have to deaden this area but will an injection be given in the tonue?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.

As per your complain a white skin tag that is painless and present over the tongue can be a mucosal overgrowth, a growth of soft tissue fibres known as a Fibroma or an overgrown taste bud..
The exact nature of the growth will be examined by a biopsy and as you are already appointed for it, better get it done so that treatment can be planned accordingly..
In case if it is found to be a benign [non-cancerous] growth and as it will be removed once no further treatment is required..
But in case if it is any malignancy further treatment that is Chemotherapy or Radiotherapy will be decided according to the severity of the nature of lesion..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
