Hello,
Thank you for asking at HCM.
I went through your history and would like to make suggestions for you as follows:
1. I usually prescribe my such patients regular
montelukast and
levocetirizine. I also prescribe them
salbutamol inhaler to be used on as-and-when-needed basis for
wheezing. If frequency of your symptoms is more, I would also add regular inhaled
corticosteroids to your regular medicines at present.
2. I would also suggest you
allergy testing for common air-born substances such as house dust mites, molds, pollens, insect proteins, animal dander, etc. This will help you identify the substances causing allergies to you as well as to know measures to avoid them.
3. Based on allergy testing, an Allergist-Immunologist may prescribe you allergen specific
immunotherapy which works on immune system to gradually improve your allergies.
4. In general, I would suggest you to avoid exposure to dusts, smokes and air pollution as much as possible.
5. Regular breathing exercises and healthy diet rich in vitamins & minerals would also help you in a long run by improving your lung capacity and immunity respectively.
6. As you have difficulty in sports, I would also suggest you to use salbutamol inhaler 15-20 minute before sports activity which will prevent exercise-induced wheezing.
Hope above suggestions will be helpful to you.
Should you have nay further query, please feel free to ask at HCM.
Wish you the best of the health ahead.
Thank you & Regards.
