Hi,I am Neethu Vipin (Dietitian & Nutritionist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 40 years old. I have had my thyroid checked and it is fine. However, I have been on a 1200-1400 calorie diet since June and exercising 3-4 times a week regularly. I have lost six lbs only. I understand it is harder as you get older, but I feel like something more is going on. Had an ovary removed in November of 2013. Could this be hormonal and is there anything I can do?
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns. Bariatric surgery can be considered for patients with severe obesity (BMI 40 kg/m2) or those with moderate obesity (BMI 35 kg/m2) associated with a serious medical condition. Surgical weight loss functions by reducing caloric intake and, depending on the procedure, macronutrient absorption. Polycystic ovarian syndrome(excess androgenic hormones, and insulin resistance) may be cause of obesity.
