My 9 month old little girl is have watery yellow stools about 8 today so far. For the most part she is acting ok, small bouts of fussiness and a very red butt. I m worried about dehydration. Trying to get her to drink more liquids and pedialite. Should I be worried?
Hai, as the 9 month old child use pass frequent stool.
kindly take him to pediatrician or hospital if child develops any of the below symptoms. If child pass blood in stool, not urinating for more than 6 hours, fatigue, not taking oral feeds, vomiting, not active, passing more than 15 times a day.
as the child is active and taking oral feed and passing stool 5 to 6 times a day is normal.
Hello, There is no worry if child is taking plenty of fluids and is not irritable. If she gets irritable or starts vomiting or refuses oral fluids or if number of loose motions increase, then she may need intravenous fluids. Give her probiotic like syrup VIZYLAC 5 ml twice a day. If motions don't stop in next 48 hours, then get her stool tested for pus cells. If pus cells present, then she would require an antibiotic course. Thanks
