Many intestinal infections are associated with malaise and headache. I would suggest to evaluate for
diarrhea rather than going for an MRI first.
In our clinic we recommend thorough history including food habits, physical examination, laboratory parameters,
ultrasound, and
colonoscopy in selected cases according to the need.
General guidelines till then to get better faster are:
• Consume plenty of liquids preferably boiled water, coconut water, rice water, lemon juice, green tea, coffee, homemade juices, buttermilk, etc., to maintain hydration.
• Consume
soft diet in small amounts at intervals.
• Increase items with probiotics in your food as fresh curd.
• Avoid overeating.
• Avoid all oily, non-vegetarian, beverages, junk, and spicy foods.
• Avoid smoking and alcohol if using.
• Remain ambulatory, regular walking and exercises help.
• Avoid stress and anxiety.
• Have regular sound sleep of 7 to 8 hours.
• Keep BP, blood sugar, weight, and
cholesterol levels under control.
• Check whether any problem in vision (for persistent headache).
• Avoid exposure to excess heat.
