Suggest Treatment For Vitamin D Deficiency And Hypothyroidism

hi I am a 28 year old mother of 3. I suffer from fatigue, depression, hair loss, constipation, muscle weakness. Some days its all I can do to get up. I sleep all the time. I have felt tired since I was about 13 but the doctors wouldn t look into it. during my last pregnancy I learned that I have hypothyroidism and about 3 months ago I learned I have vit d deficiency. I cant play with my kids im just too exhausted all the time. its to the point my husband thinks im just lazy. I just want to be a normal 28 year old who can play with her kids and enjoy life. thank you

Hello my friend
I am Dr.Arianisa
Thanks for your question on HCM

Hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid gland) is the term used to describe a condition in which there is a reduced level of thyroid hormone (thyroxine) in the body.
The treatment is to take levothyroxine (thyroxine) tablets each day. This replaces the thyroxine which your thyroid gland is not making. Most people feel much better soon after starting treatment. Ideally, take the tablet on an empty stomach (before breakfast). This is because some foods rich in calcium or iron may interfere with the absorption of levothyroxine from the gut. (For the same reason, don't take levothyroxine tablets at the same time of day as calcium or iron tablets.)

Blood tests are usually taken every 2-3 months, and the dose may be adjusted accordingly. The blood test measures TSH . Once the blood TSH level is normal it means you are taking the correct amount of levothyroxine.
