Sir, my father is 61 year old and diabetic patient for last 32 years. In August 2011 because of CHICKENGUNIA fever his diabetic was not in control and on 5th August suddenly a vein punchered in his right eye and he lost his vision. Doctor said the blood will remove automatically in 1-4 months and eye sight will be normal then. i am not satisfied by his answer. Please suggest the right treatment and which is the best hospital for this in delhi/ncr.

Hello
It seems from the history that your father who is a diabetic has lost vision because of bleeding in the eye secondary yo diabetes.
The probable diagnosis is vitreous hemorrhage.
The treatment is by surgery in the form if vitrectomy. However you can wait for 3 months to see whether the blood gets absorbed spontaneously. If it is not resolving or associated with complications like retinal problems, or if it is recurrent or involved both the eyes, early surgery is indicated.
Hence I advice you to consult retinal specialist for further examination and treatment.
You can consult AIIMS in delhi.

Thank you
