Suggest Treatment For Vertigo And Dizziness

Hi, I had vertigo about 2 months ago and ever since then, I have been lightheaded non dizzy with slight blured vision tired eyes and heavy forehead. I had a blood test and ct scan and all cam back normal. My dotor put me on medical leave from work for the last 3 weeks and prescribed 10mg of an anxiety pill that I cannot recall name right now. Right after the vertigo I was nervous and concerned that I might get it again and was scared to the point that I could not be home alone. I have gotten over this fear now but cannot get rid of the lightheadedness and heavy forehead and sometimes nausea. Forgot to mention that right after the vertigo, I had diarrhea for 2 weeks straight as well. One other thing I cannot drive with anyone that accelerates fast and stops fast as this causes nausea and light headed systems and cannot go on a swing - have been like this for the last 30 years. Was wondering if going to a chiropractor and having an Epley maneuver would help or make this worse. Thanks gf

Hello dear,

After going through your history, I believe you have some genuine concern and I will try to help you out of this situation.

First to tell you that the term vertigo is not a disease, but a symptom. You described it write when you say you feel lightheaded and non-dizzy.

I would like to advice NOT TO GO FOR an Epley's maneuver. This maneuver is only for the condition called as BPPV ( Benign paroxismal Positional vertigo) which is due to deposition of calcium crystal in side the inner ear and due to their mobility the sensory organs gets irritated leading to vertigo. But this episode lasts for few seconds only and subsides with rest. So you do not have this situation.

As you are having blurred vision, heavy fore head and nausea for 2 months, there is some probability of having some space occupying lesion in your brain. At this answer please do not get panic as condition like this must be excluded before progressing for any definite treatment.
In my clinic I advice patient like you to go for a MRI brain. Ct scan is not sensitive for soft tissue. Brain is a soft tissue and MRI will be the gold standard investigation for that.

I hope I could solve your query. Please do not hesitate to clarify more doubts for the same situation.

Thank you for the way you are in my life.
