Suggest Treatment For Varicose Veins In The Legs

Hi, I have varicose veins in my legs. Recently, I had a red, inflamed area that eventually bruised just behind my knee. It has been about 3 weeks now and there still remains a hard lump just in the crook of my knee. Just this morning, I noticed larger bruises up the back of my leg about half way up my thigh.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi and welcome to HCM Thanks for the query.
In most cases it can be treated conservatively by elastic stockings, Detralex ointment and avoiding long standing. You should walk as much as possible, regulate body weight. If there is no improvement on these measures, then surgery should be considered which can be done by lasers or by open surgery but you should consult your doctor about this.
WIsh you good health. Regards
