Suggest Treatment For Vaginal Thrush Along With Red Rashes All Over The Body

I have been using clotrimazole insert vaginal cream for thrush and after 2 days have a red rash over my body and my throat feels a little swollen. I have taken an antihistamine this morning which seems to have stopped the rash from increasing. I am allergic to all penicillens would this create a problem?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Clotrimazole is an antifungal medication, it is not in the penicillin family of drugs so there is no cross reaction.

This means that in addition to be allergic to penicillin, you are allergic to this medication as well.
You may want to consider an oral medication for your vaginal yeast infection since this area is now inflamed eg fluconazole.

Continue the use of the anti histamine

I hope this helps
