Suggest Treatment For Upset Stomach, Chills, Hot Flashes And Nausea

my stomach was really upset four days ago. I had chills, hot flashes and felt nauseous. I took Alka seltzer and sipped water. I still felt really nauseous and stomach pains. I then ate chewable pepto. I started to feel better. But I was still going through nausea for several days. I took chewable pepto again two days later. It helped some. I have been experiencing black stools for 5 days, every time I go. Going about twice a day. Still having nausea.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello

Welcome to HCM

According to history provided in my opinion stomach pain I assume that you have epigastric pain with nausea and black stools.

In my OPD I usually prescribe antacid for epigastric pain and anti-emetic for nausea.

In your case one more fact of concern is black stool for which I advice to do stool routine with occult blood to rule out blood in your stool.

Epigatric pain, nausea and black stool is indicative of upper gastro intestinal bleeding.

If stool routine with occult blood comes positive then you must have to take appointment of gastro physician for further work up.

At present please visit nearby physician.

Hopefully i cleared your doubts.

Regards.
