Suggest Treatment For Upper Abdominal Pain

I went to the doctor because I was having pain in my upper stomach. Pictures were taken and it was found that I had a bacterial infection. A prescription was written. Took the medication, but still had pain. About three weeks later, I went in to see my primary care doctor for follow-up on my blood pressure and another problem. I told the doctor I had pain. He told me they could not find anything but if I still have the problem come back. I still have the pain with something inside twisting up like my stomach. Do you think I should find another doctor?

Hello,

Thanks for writing to HealthCareMagic, I am Dr Muhammd Ahmad, I have closely read your question and I understand your concerns, I will hereby guide you regarding your health related problem.

Your history suggests that you were probably having H.Pylori its quite a resistant bug. If after taking all the medication you are still having pain then there can be two possibilities.

1) Your bacteria are still there.
2) You had stomach damage due to bacteria that will take some more time to heal up.

For both these possibilities you will have to visit your gastroenterologist again, he might suggest you some changed set of antibiotics or might give you some more stomach protection drugs to help with the damage to stomach wall, do not panic it usually takes some time to get cured completely, in some people it does take even 2..3 months.

I hope this answered your question, if you have more feel free to ask, otherwise close the discussion and rate it.

Regards.

Dr.Muhammad Ahmad.
