my blood pressure with Rx is usually about 148/78 and I am not happy with that, especially having AMD and only having vision in one eye and a recent bleed in that eye. am told that this is a new level of acceptance for B/P. How or what do I do; is this too high for my B/P? GC

I have read your question and understand your concerns.
Usually blood pressure above 140 /90 mmhg should be treated if persistent. If it's less than that then it's good actually.
Ask your doctor why you have bleed in that eye. The cause of that should be treated on priority basis .
Still if you are not satisfied than ask your doctor about 24 hrs ambulatory blood pressure monitoring. It will give you proper idea about blood pressure fluctuations.
