Hi...my name is sujeet. I was suffering from fever for 5 days. I underwent cbc and dengue tests. Dengue result was negative, but platelets were low around 1lakh. Now my typhoid widal test is positive and platelets are 40K only but no fever at all for past 2days. Please guide me on what should I do now.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, From your above statement you are suffering from typhoid, ?dengue.
There is no information about
which dengue test was performed
the lab values for widal
Are you on any antibiotic.
i would suggest
1) The decrease in platelet count may occur in typhoid, but it is more suggestive of viral pathology.
2) The dengue test of ns1 antigen to be performed and then to Igm test.
3) As platelet count is decreasing, you should consult your physician immediately, should be under continuous monitoring.
4) If you are on antibiotic, should continue it.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
