I am bi-polar 2 with recent serious personal loss and I notice I have been feeling hollow, like a shell, detached, unaffected. Please help I don t know what to do, told my prescriber, she said its part of bipolar or its a defense mechanism...I am confused and suicidal at times.

Dear
Welcome to HCM
We understand your concerns

I went through your details. I hope you have been diagnosed for bipolar type II by a psychiatrist or clinical psychologist. You have not given any details of your medicines. You must be taking medicines for that too. In this case, your psychiatrist is the best person to advise you because he knows your condition better than any other doctors. Over and above, you are more suicidal now and are more depressed. Please consult your psychiatrist as soon as possible.

If you require more of my help in this aspect, please use this URL. http://goo.gl/aYW2pR. Make sure that you include every minute details possible.

Hope this answers your query. Available for further clarifications.
Good luck.
