Suggest Treatment For Trigeminal Neuralgia On Face
Hi, I've recently been diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia in the right side of my face. I've been going for "cool laser" treatments and they have relieved the pain. The only problem is that I am still unable to move the right side of my lips, my smile is all messed up now and I'm really scared that this is going to be permanent. Is there anything I can do to help get that movement back? Thanks
As per your complain if you are unable to move the right side of the lips leading to crooked smile then it seems to be most probably related to facial nerve that supplies muscles of face and in case if there is any compression or trauma implicated on it then it can lead to lack of muscle activity in the particular area.
Consult a Neurophysician and get evaluated and a proper evaluation and investigations like MRI, Nerve conduction velocity and Electromyography will be done for diagnosis and treatment will be done accordingly. As of now take Vitamin B complex supplements and do warm compresses over the lips.
Hope this information helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Thanks and regards, Dr. Honey Nandwani Arora
