Suggest Treatment For Trigeminal Neuralgia And Numbness In Face And Mouth
I suffered from trigeminal neuralgia for a number of years. Four years ago it was treated with a laser beam (I think..gamma knife?) About six months ago, the same side of my face started to gradually become numb and tingly....no paid, but I have a feeling that my ear may be involved...it seems to be extraordinarily dry and itchy. Balance does not seem to be affected, but the numbness seems to be deepening so that now the inside of my mouth on that same side is numb. Two days ago I had to have prep work for a new crown on the last upper molar on that side and the novacaine shot was absolutely painless for once. I have made an appointment with a new neuorologist but it s going to be several months before that happens. Should I make a fuss and try to get an earlier appointment? Just being aware of it, but no answers is really causing more stress than I realize until I get cranky for no apparent reason.
As per your complain all the symptoms that you have explained like tingling and numbness on the face and inside the mouth are all pointing towards any injury or degeneration of fibres of TRIGEMINAL NERVE and its branches..
As the trigeminal nerve which is the nerve of face and any injury to this nerve and its branches can lead to paresthesia and numbness of the side of face and mouth.
