The ball of mass which you found was clogged up mucous which is a common finding in people having such problem. The blood om it is nothing to worry inflammed mucous membrane in nose csn give off small amounts of blood which may be shown. Regarding your treatment you willl have to follow a few suggestions of mine which are expected to help you much. You have to take steam inhalation regularly this will soften thr clogged up mucous in you airways and will greatly help you in getting your symptoms better. Drinking hot drinks helps too , you can use brufen or Exedrine if you get head ache or fever. If fever and throat pain is worsened you should contact an ENT surgeon in order to seek his opinion regarding requirement of surgical intervention. A doctor will also decide about the need of antibiotic which might be required for if your tonsils get infected so if your problems keep getting worsened do contact your ENT specialist..some sinus issues do need intervention for clearing the sinus up so a complete checkup is always recommended.
