Suggest Treatment For Tonsilitis

I think I have a tonsiolith. I can't remove it myself. It doesn't hurt although sometimes I get a little mucus in my throat and feel like there's an object there. It comes and goes. Sometimes other small spots appear, but after a while go away. What should I do? Some people told me to use salt water, but I haven't done anything yet (although I've scheduled an appointment with a doctor). I'm 36 and I'm quitting smoking. Never had any serious medical condition.Thank you.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi, thanks for the query.
Tonsilloliths is seen in chronic tonsillitis.
I would advice you , use antiseptic mouthwash & Plenty of fluids till you consult your ENT Specialist & get removal. If tonsilloliths removal difficult or associated with pus formation , you may need tonsillectomy.
Hope this information helpful to you.If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
Regards.
