i dip tabacco for over 28 years im trying to quit. its a bad health hazzard im a ware of the risk. im 46 years old black male. about three months ago i notice i had a red white bump right side of tounge and three little small bumps on the front left side of tounge. etc. so i got worried . made an appointment to see an head neck throat doctor. i went and got seen by him and his nurse assistant. they both was disscusen my mouth. he look at my mouth inside and out. at my tounge he told the nurse that he didnt need to take no sample. but he could see the track traces around my tounge little trail tracks. he said its were i been dipping for that my mouth trying to reject it. but inside of both sides of inside of the jaw was ok. top of the gums and bottom lookk ok too. top plate inside mouth okay as well. but i been brushing teeth tounge and gums twice dailly and mouth wash. pro health tooth paste and pro health tripple protection 24 hr. but before that iwent to a dentist . befor the head neck and throat doctor. they look my tounge and mouth and number namming my teeth the ones top and bottom. that are there and couple bottom back that are not. they me they wanted to do a cleanning then a double cleaning. but there doctors didnt deal with my medical insurance well care. and i get part a and b as as well. but they told me by what they seen that day. i had alot of bacteria in my mouth. so they gave a perscrition mouth wash two refills. but my tounge bumps on the side didnt look like cancer to them what they have seen in other situations but at the time. they said they didnt know for sure what it was of the matter. they said maybe when they clean them it might go away. but once again they deal my medical insurance. so that lead me to the head throat neck doctor. who looked and said he didnt need to take mouthor tounge sample. but i been having little bits of blood in the middle of my tounge for a week or two. and i still dip a little also. what do you think. i really appreciate your time.
If you have a tobacco dipping habit then ulceration and irritation of tongue is a common finding and it is not necessary to be cancerous.. But it is a potent cause for causing cancerous lesions so my sincere advise to you is to stop dipping tobacco.. You can start nicotone replacement therapy in the form of nicotine chewing gums, nicotine skin patches etc as they will maintain levels of nicotine in blood and help in reducing addiction and dipping urge.. As you will stop dipping you will observe that the soreness and ulcers will disappear, your taste will improve, the mouth will not be dry and your overall teeth and gum health will become better.. Blood on tongue can be due to inflammation of tongue and nothing serious.. Still for confirmation consult an Oral Surgeon and get evaluated..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
