I have thyroid nodules in my gland whose size is 4.3cm.I don't have any issues in my blood test.(No hypo or hyper thyrodism). Also I don't have any family history of people having thyroid nodules. Is there any medication available to reduce size of gland or any food diet will help me? Please give me any solution for my problem
If your blood tests are normal and thyroid nodule is nodule no medications or diet can reduce it to normal size.
Non surgical treatments used (with doubtful results) are 1. Thyroxine supplementation to bring your TSH lower side of normal 2. Diet rich in Iodine (Increase intake of sea foods, fortified food, decrease intake of cabbage, cauliflower etc) 3. Radio iodine treatment 4. Radio frequency ablation
The size of your nodule (>4cm) itself is an indication for surgery. If I were your treating physician I would have suggested you surgery after an FNAC (needle test)
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help
