Hello. Thanks for asking from HCM.

I can understand your concern. This headache could be post traumatic headache if it is occurring at injury site, increases on pressing it, touching it, relief on lying down, associated with swelling. This type of headache usually subsides on its own. For pain, you can take painkiller like Diclofenac sodium after proper prescription. Bruise will disappear in 10-14 days on its own.

Another cause could be migraine/tension headache. From your history, it can not be differentiated between two. To reach upto some conclusion, you can provide more detailed history by asking another question. For pain relief, Diclofenac sodium can be taken after proper prescription. Avoid bright light.

Hope it will help you. Take care. Thanks.

Hello. Thanks for asking from HCM.

I can understand your concern. This headache is most probably due to head injury. It is good that you are conscious, oriented. You have to rule out signs of dangerous head injury like
: vomiting
: bleed through nose/ear/throat
: fits
: loss of consciousness or decreasing consciousness
: persistent headache not relieving by medication
If any of above signs, you should consult doctor as soon as possible. He might advise you CT scan head to rule out fracture or bleed.

If no above signs, it is mild injury. This pain is due to inflammation caused by head injury. It subsides on its own in 10-14 days. For relief, you can follow few tips
: Apply icepacks to relieve swelling and pain
: You can take painkiller like Diclofenac sodium after proper prescription. It all relieve swelling, redness also
: Keep your head at higher level than chest
: Apply Diclofenac gel if no open wound, to relieve pain
: If still no relief, you can consult doctor.

Hope it will help you. Take care. Thanks.
