Suggest Treatment For Throat Infection

Good evening, since last Fri 4am, I have been in ER twice. I have a severe throat infection of some kind. am unable to eat or drink because of the pain of swallowing. The steroids given at the hospital wear off in 24 hrs and I am back to hunger and dehydration. At the end of my last ER visit, an ENT was brought in, scripted me liquid amox and prednisolone until an office visit tomorrow at noon. Any thoughts? Ron Pool

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, most of the time it may not be the infection but it must be allergic condition and if it is so then it may not need any antibiotic but antihistamine alone could be enough, saline water gargling, hot drink can also be tried hope this information helps.
I find this answer helpful
