Suggest Treatment For Throat Infection With Lump

Hello, I am 26 pregnant and I still vomit every day twice a day when I brush my teeth. A week and half ago I was vomiting when I saw a lump come out where my xyphoid is located. It used to hurt only when I vomited or sneeze. However, now the pain is more constant and it increases to a sharp, aching feeling with movement, like when i am trying to get out of bed or when i bend over. What is the source of the pain? Could i have hurt my xyphoid? What do i do? Can the pain become worst. Thank you.

Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

All this symptoms (vomiting or pain over throat) could be because of upper respiratory infection (pharyngitis, laryngitis, epiglotitis) or bronchitis.

It could be mostly due to viral infection like EB virus, adenovirus but some time could be bacterial or parasitic.Injury to the xyphoid might cause this kind of pain but it needs to be properly examined by the doctor to detect the exact cause.

You should go for some routine blood investigation with sputum tests and Chest X- ray to get diagnosed first.

You may require higher antibiotics (quinolones or macrolides) to prevent super infection with anti-inflammatory and other supportive treatment like bronchodilators if there is any breathing problem.

It would be advisable to see ENT surgeon and start treatment after that.
