Suggest Treatment For Thick Skin And Lot Of Ingrown Hair
My skin seems to be too thick and rejuvenate too fast... I get a lot of ingrown hairs and sometimes I can see hair laying down flat on my legs but I can t move it because its actually stuck under my skin. I also seem to grow coarse hair all over my body, even little whiskers on my chin, but I m a 21 year old female. Is this a hormonal issue? What can info to improve it?
An excess of male type hair in females is termed hirsutism. Usually it is a hormonal issue. But there are certain cases which are termed as idiopathic hirsutism, which are due to increased sensitivity of the hair follicles to the normal levels of the androgens in the female body.
So to find the cause of your increased hair on the body, you have to be evaluated properly by an endocrinologist, which usually includes a comprehensive clinical examination, followed by relevant tests.
Hope it helps...
