Suggest Treatment For The Swelling In My Throat

I have had swollen tonsils for a few days and it hurts to swallow. I have a ton of thick mucus at the back of my throat, so at times I feel like I can't breath. Now I just woke up and my gums are swollen. This is torture. What is wrong with me? Please help.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello,
It seems you have nasal discharge and infections which is dripping down the throat and causing the tonsillar infections and in addition phlegm in the throat.
YOu should consult an ENT specialist and get examined and then you might require antibiotics and antihistaminics and decongestants and normal saline nasal sprays.
Luke warm saline gargles would help in the throat pain.
You could take anti inflammatory enzymes like trypsin , chymotrypsin or serratiopeptidase for getting pain relief and decreasing the swelling in the throat.
In doubt do reply.
