Dear friend, thank you for coming out with the question.
By now you must be aware of fact that T Minor (TM)is a genetic condition which affects Hemoglobin formation. This may be transmitted to the next generation as you too have received from one of your parents. It may have shown in your children(if any, as you have not mentioned).
With TM, now known to you, you need not get stressed now, as you have lived for 53 years happily, you can continue doing so.
Only problem you have is anemia not responding to general treatment. Tiredness can be explained by that.
You shall have nutritious low fat food(cut down on red meat, excess chease, oil, butter etc), add lots of fruits and vegetables to routine diet.
Take up some exercise, do it at your pace and enjoy it. Walking is best to start at this age.
You need not announce it to every one but to your immediate family as one of them may be a sufferer.
I have seen so many patients with the condition and one of the grand parent suffering the same condition but living an overall healthy and happy life.
So I believe you need not worry about it but take care of hyperlipidemia
by following your physicians advice and required medicines if any.
I find this answer helpful
