Suggest Treatment For Tennis Elbow In The Left Arm

Good Morning I am 64 year old male. I have tennis elbow in my left arm. I am right handed. It has been a month. It hurts all day. I can hardly pick up my coffee cup with my left arm. I can work but it is painful. Sometimes burning pain in the back of my wrist below my elbow. I put on muscle rubs. I want it to heal but I keep using my arm. Any help? Jeff

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You can apply ice over the elbow and take Ibuprofen (if not allergic) to relieve pain and inflammation. Take rest and do not overuse your elbow joint. You can use a splint to give support to your elbow to make healing easier. Physical therapy can also help. Please be advised to follow-up with a physical therapist for appropriate management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Lekshmi Rita Venugopal
