Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Have been informed by my GP that I have a tear in my left calf muscle, have had it for two weeks before I noticed it just thought it was normal leg cramps from workouts. But last night (4 weeks after I had done it) my leg had seized up it felt like someone had shoved their hand into my leg and grabbed the muscle and yanked it. Ever since then finding it even more harder to walk and I keep getting little seizures in the muscle after it non stop. No matter how many times I do RICE..... Please help me its the most worst pain I have every had and I have had some bad pain in my life and this tops it!!
Hello. Welcome to HCM. This is Dr. Swarnava Dattagupta answering your query.
See, muscle sprain is something manageable but pain due to muscle tear is very severe. Painkillers might reduce pain but not completely make it go away. I would suggest you the following-
Take aceclofenac-paracetamol combination twice daily for 5 days. Take antacids or PPIs along with. See an orthopaedician immediately. Restrict movement of the affected limb.
Hope this was useful. Regards
