Suggest Treatment For Systemic Sclerosis

hello, my name is chimene, Am 27 years old and I have scleroderma systematic. right now I m taking Methotrexate 2.5mg , 6tablets every wednesday. my question is : for how long do you think I will be in this medication ? Any way I can manage my desease without taking any strong medication like Methotrexate ? please help. thanks

I can understand your concern.
Systemic sclerosis is autoimmune connective tissue disease (CTD).
It is progressive and chronic disease.
So treatment is life long.
Methotrexate is immunosuppressive drug. Other less toxic immunosuppressive drugs are also available for systemic sclerosis.
You should consult rheumatologist and start newer (azathioprine, rituximab etc) for your disease.
