Suggest Treatment For Symptoms Of Tonsillitis

Went to the doctor yesterday with a suspected case of tonsillitis. One of my ears had a fair bit of wax in it so he used a cotton tip swab thing to clean it out so he could look at the infection-but after he did it, I couldn t hear much out of my ear. Now it s the morning after and I can hear practically nothing from it-but it isn t painful. How do I get my hearing back?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Loss of hearing after cleaning of ear wax needs to be investigated.
You need to consult your ENT specialist for clinical assessment of the ear drum.
Along with ear examination, audiometry also needs to be done to assess the hearing of both ears.
Accumulation of ear wax can also cause loss of hearing.
Although your ear has been cleaned however a repeat examination is required to look for any more deposits of wax.
There is possibility of injury to the ear drum while cleaning the ear and hence loss of hearing.
Thus, consult your ENT specialist as early as possible.
