Suggest Treatment For Swollen Tonsils

Hello! I am a college student majoring in music. I have voice classes and lessons everyday that focuses on classical singing. I started college in August and ever since, I have been dealing with this swelling in my tonsils that have not gone away. It is painless majority of the time and sometimes it gets sore and goes away. Sometimes the inflammation gets worse, but it has never fully gone away I ve been to the doctor and tried anti-biotics and steroid shots and nothing seems to work. Taking them out is NOT an option. Please let me know what this may be and what I should do. And in addition to the tonsil issue, I also have a very bad swelling in both nostrils, almost as if they want to swell and close. I am thinking it is bad allergies and that both issues are linked together to one big issue. Please give me your thoughts on this.

Pediatric Surgeon 's  Response
hello....gud morning..and welcome to healthcare magic..first be assured there is nothing big issue....you are suffering from chronic tonsillitis where tonsils enlarge but are painless..if the attack of sore throat or acute tonsillitis is not frequent meaning less than seven episodes per year, you need not go for surgery...just during the acute episode start with antibiotics and warm saline gargles. try to avoid freezed and chilled food items frequently ..keep your orodental hygiene good...you can start with a herbal medicine TAB SEPTILLIN 2 tabs twice a day for one moth which will help you build immunity and attacks will be less frequent..eat lot of carrots as they are rich in carotene.
secondly as far as your nose problem is concerned, you are having bilateral inferior turbinate hypertrophy...this may be due to allergy...so you have to start with all dust precautions and food precautions as it may be dust or food allergy.
you should keep your shouse and surrounding clean..
wear mask while going out...
your room should be daily mopped and it should be away from kitchen fumes...
wash your clothes, pillow covers, bedsheet ,blankets daily...
keep your books , laptops in shelves and cupboards so that they are not dusty when you touch them...be away from trees and animals...
you will have to prepare a food chart so that you can find out the food items that you are allergic too...mostly it is milk and milk products....due to this allergy problem your tonsil can also get enlarged...you can now startwith fluticasone nasal spray 2 puffs BD both nostrils for one month along with tab monteleukast +levocetrizine one tab night time for one month...all this will surely solve your problem...
