Suggest Treatment For Swollen Tonsils, Fever And Severe Body Aches

Hi, I had some swelling in my tonsils recently and a bit of pain while swallowing and in my ears. My throat does not really bother me unless I am swallowing, but it is not a burning pain, it is more of a muscular pain like that of my ears/ tonsils. I had a fever and severe body aches earlier this week ( it peaked at 100.6) but those symptoms have been gone for a couple of days, but the throat/ tonsil problems were not an issue when I had the other symptoms. I have a picture of my throat/ tonsils that I can attach. I did get a flu test at my doctor's office which came back negative this past week. I would like to know what I might have. I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that you have a viral infection leading to sore throat, fever and difficulty in swallowing..
Nothing to worry as it will be resolved soon as the virus will complete its cycle..
There may be a secondary bacterial infection along with Viral..
I would suggest you to take a course of antibiotics like Azithromycin, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, fever reducer like Tylenol..
Do warm saline gargles, steam inhalations and use a humidifier in your room as humid air will soothe the throat..
You can also chew Vitamin C pellets, suck throat lozenges and drink plenty of warm water..
You can also avoid chilled and spicy foods..
In case of no resolution in a week consult an Otolaryngologist and he can advise you throat swab culture and blood tests to rule out the cause and treat accordingly.
