Suggest Treatment For Swollen Red Tonsils And Swollen Inner Ear

Hi, im having problems swallowing. My tonsil is swollen and red. Extreemly painful gland and swollen too. My ear is throbbing and semi deaf. Saw a nurse at the hospital. Told I hav a viral ingection in my throat. I hav a swollen inner ear and I have tonsil stones. I dont think I have tonsil stones as I cant squeeze any out. Only this brown goo.. im in so much pain and I feel very week and feverish. I cant help but think something else is the problem.. pain killers and anti inflammation pills are not helping. Thank you

Hello,
Thanks for your query. It's obvious you are having tonsilitis and it's probably affected your middle ear. The fact that you can express out a brown goo (pus) means it's no longer just viral but has superimposed bacterial infection. You will require a throat swab microscopy, culture and sensitivity test and probably commence on appropriate antibiotics.
I hope this helps you out. It's indeed a very painful situation.
