Suggest Treatment For Swollen Painful Neck With History Of Mastoiditis

Hi I have had mastoiditis 5 times in under 4 years, I believe it is back as I am having severe pain in my neck and in my throat, both are swollen and so is the area behind my ear. I am as having a hard time hearing. I wanted to know if I should go to the ER or try and wait it out until Monday.

Otolaryngologist / ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi

Welcome to HealthcareMagic forum

The source of neck pain could be the sore throat, as both of them share a similar innervation. You can take over-the-counter analgesics such as ibuoprofen or diclofenac. Consult your doctor at the earliest to prevent further complications.
