I have been given a Hepatitis PCR Requisition for further testing; after having blood tests done due to right side neck gland swelling after eating started Jan. 12, 2015 to present. Had ultrasound done Jan. 31st along with first set of blood tests. Dec. 30, 2014 started unprotected sex. I need a good sight for information about hepatitis c? Any thing to help me understand what may be going on or how I may have been exposed to hep c would be appreciated. Kind regards, Stephanie
Hi. your main concern looks to find out the reasons of how you could have possibly been suffering from Hepatitis C: Hepatitis C is contracted through contact with infected blood, even the slightest blood contact can cause this; the commonest forms being rough sex with a person having this, sharing needles, blood transfusions and so on.
Hepatitis C leads to fibrosis of liver, jaundice, cirrhosis and cancer.
The swollen lymph nodes in the neck require a three week antibiotic treatment and anti-inflammatory treatment. If no response go for biopsy.
