Suggest Treatment For Swollen Lymph Node

Hello, what I believe to be my left lymph node has been swollen and sore for about a week. I am a triathlete and I returned to the states from europe, where it's cooler, about a month ago. I don't think I was hydrating enough in the first couple of weeks back. I also use protein shakes. I have no fever or phlegm in my throat, but it is slightly uncomfortable to swallow. Can you help me figure this out? Thanks so much

Hello and welcome to HCM to HCM,
I learn from your history that you have a swelling on left side, however, no site of swelling is mentioned.
However, a discrete swelling in neck, armpit or groin is most probably due to lymph node enlargement.
usually preceding infection of the infected part is the most common cause of lymph node enlargement.
A clinical assessment of the selling is required to ascertain that the swelling is due to lymph node enlargement or due to some other cause.
Aspiration cytology is the most common investigation done to know the origin and nature of the swelling.
In aspiration cytology, the cells are aspirated from the swelling using a fine needle.
These cells are spread on glass slide and stained with appropriate stains.
The origin and nature of the swelling is determined by this investigation.

Thanks and take care
