Suggest Treatment For Swollen Lip With Fluid Ooze After Injury

My husband had a bump right below his bottom lip. He popped it and about 3 hours later, it started to swell. This was 2 days ago and it has only gotten worse. It is so bad at this point that it causes discomfort to eat and even talk. The bump that he popped is still there and tonight it started oozing white and clear fluid. What is this and should he have it lanced?

I have gone through your query and can understand..

As per your complain it seems that there is infection in the bump secondary to popping leading to pain,inflammation , swelling and pus discharge..
I would suggest you to clean the area with antiseptic solution and apply triple antibiotic ointment and steroid ointment over it..
You can take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen for relief from pain and inflammation..
In case if there is no improvement you should consult a General Physician and get evaluated and he can advise you oral antibiotics like Ciprofloxacin and Metronidazole and also keep doing topical dressing as advised before..
