Suggest Treatment For Swollen Legs

I had my L hip replaced 06/04/13 and had severe swelling in both legs for approximately 6 months ... I just had my R knee replaced 05/12/14 and have ALOT of selling in my R leg and some in my L leg ... I m on a diuretic and am wearing compression stockings during the day ... my heart has been tested, my kidneys have been tested, I ve also been tested for a blood clot ... based on an article I just read, could it be a medication allergic reaction? How do I get rid of this swelling?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi
Welcome to healhcaremagic
After going through your query I concluded that you are having swelling of both legs after knee replacement. You got similar swelling when you got previous surgery. Your swelling is related to dependence ( resting on bed). Treatment of this is mobilisation exercises of knee joints. Walking will help gradually reducing swelling. Keeping limb elevated on pillow will reduce swelling. You can discuss with your Doctor about it. Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then please don't hesitate to write to us. I will be happy to help.
Wishing you a good health. Take care.
