Suggest Treatment For Swollen, Itchy And Red Bumps On Buttocks

I have a weird looking bug bite (?) on the very top of my butt crack. It s been there for about 2 weeks now. It started off a little swollen and raised and bright red, but now its more of a purple color and the swelling has gone down, but there are still 2 little bumps on it and it will randomly start itching. I got it when I left Disneyland...so at first I thought it was a bed bug, but I have had those before and this isn t it. Any thoughts? Should I be concerned?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,

I can understand your concern for the swollen, itchy and red bumps on buttocks. In my opinion it appears to be simple insect bite and accordingly would get better in next couple of days.

In my patients I generally prescribe a cream containing mupirocin for two times and give an antihistamine such as cetrizine for two times. You can get guidance from your treating doctor.

All the best.
