Suggest Treatment For Swollen Ankle And Painful Kneecap

I have been having left knee pain and discomfort since 12/14/14. I have had an xray, and mri which will be discussed with me on 1/5. Following the MRI on 12/22, I have since developed pain, swelling, and tenderness behind my knee and down the calf. As of 12/31, I woke with a very swollen ankle but without ankle pain. Currently, my symptoms are: a swollen ankle with no pain, an intermittent swollen calf (when leg is not elevated), a small bump behind left knee that is very tender to the touch, a heavy, firm leg, medial knee pain, and pain to the right of my knee cap when bending and walking. Should I seek medical immediate attention, and how can I reduce the swelling?
