Suggest Treatment For Swollen And Painful Neck

I have a very sore neck. It s affecting the right side of my face. It feels like the muscles have gone stiff. Xrays have shown no joint problems. I am swollen between my neck and my shoulder. I was told that I will have to go for a MRI scan which my. Medical aid does not cover and I will never have the money to pay for it. What I want to know is it possible that I could have arthritis in the neck? Thank you.

The kind of symptoms you have shared here, it looks like you have trepezitis that is the inflammation in trepezious muscle, in your case mainly for upper fibre. And treatment can be done at home with frequent use of hot and cold pack. With this postural correction and some trepezious. Uncle exercise. I suggest first you visit physio therapist explain your problem and they will guide you for treatment, exercise as well as posture. It will be all right with this I am sure. In case you don't get relief then you need to go for mri to check there is no internal damage and as per that the treatment can be plan.
Take care.
