Suggest Treatment For Swollen And Numb Face And Eyes
my wife is 51. we were just on vacation in cuba. a few nights ago he last eye and face got swollen and numb. it then spread away from left eye and went toward her jaw and right side of face. her tongue is tingling too. she took the pharmacists advice to take Benedryl and if not ok, to go consult. What can this be?
Hello, The Benadryl will help control an allergic reaction. As long as there is not continued exposure and symptoms do not worsen, this may be adequate treatment. Try to determine the cause by considering different types of foods eaten or an insect bite. Repeat exposure can result in an increase in your reaction. Any difficulty in breathing needs immediate care. If symptoms continue, consulting a doctor should be considered. Dental infections can cause swelling with face pain. Look for symptoms relating to a tooth such as inability to chew or a broken tooth. Antibiotics can control the spread of an infection and a dentist should be consulted to determine treatment options. Thank you for your inquiry. I hope you continue to feel better.
