Hi,
I would have appreciated if you had mentioned about any discharge through the vagina. The symptoms you have described are typical of Trichomona
vaginitis. This is a protozoa infestation which is usually transmitted by sexual route. It subsequently causes greenish white frothy discharge.
It causes the outlet of vagina and
vulva very sensitive. Due to this the terminal stream of the urine when comes in contact with this inflamed part causes severe burning pain. Many a times, Trichomona infection coexists with Fungal (yeast) infection. Vaginal examination by a Gynaecologist will confirm the diagnosis.
Metronidazole is a very effective medicine for Trichomona infection.
Fungal infection can be treated by antifungal medicines - locally and/or systemically.
Since these infection are sexually transmitted infections, both the sexual partners need to take the treatment simultaneously, irrespective of symptoms. Also, please observe complete sexual abstinence till both of you declared cured of the infection. Also please get your urine examined for any evidence of urinary infection, if present, you will have to take appropriate antibiotics course. Please report to your gynecologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nishikant Shrotri
