Suggest Treatment For Swelling In The Upper Lip

My normal and healthy 9y/o son has an approx 1.0 cm swollen area on his left upper lip. Does not appear fluid filled, no drainage, no discoloration, no injury that he can recall, tender to touch, no other complaints. The area just looks odd. I can t recall seeing anything looking this way before. I was in nursing for 30+ years before I went on disability due to an ICH. He does keep fooling around with the area. Maybe he is making it look worse than it really is.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Looks like allergic or some insect bite.treatment for both is almost same. I would recommend an anti allergic like Cetirizine. Apply ice to sooth the pain. Generally lip swellings due to both these causes resolve completely in 24-48 hours. Try to find the allergen that might have caused it and try to avoid it in future.
Some more information can help in a better diagnosis like-
-Since when is his lip swollen?
-Is there any bleeding from the lip?
-Have you tried any medicines yourself?
-Does he complain of tingling or stinging sensation?
Hope this helps. Thank you
