Suggest Treatment For Swelling Due To Poison Ivy

I have poison ivy bad, already had steroid shot and now on steroid pack, using calamine but my left arm has been horribly swollen for two days and now my left hand is swelling also, throbbing and burning. Should I be worried or is this just part of the poison ivy process?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The throbbing and burning are part of the inflammatory process.

You can consider adding an oral anti inflammatory pain killer to the medications that you are currently using eg ibuprofen, naproxen, diclofenac.
One of these may help to relieve your discomfort.

I hope this helps
