Suggest Treatment For Swelling And Itching On Hands And Back
Ronnie is over 65. He has swelling and itching on hands, sometime a place on the arm may develop, or the back, or the buttocks, or legs. There is inflammation associated with the itching. He says it feels like he has beem bitten by a bug. My 15 year old son and i (61) can sleep in the same locations the he sleeps and we have no such problems. We all bathe regularly and wash the linens regularly. We do not have mites or any other non-visible biting creatures in the house. I think it s something internal or maybe an allergy. No thanks too paying $15. He is better off seeing a dematologist.

I have gone through your question and
I think he is suffering from urticaria, a type of allergy , in which there is freshly appearing wheals, like swelling,on different body sites, and feeling of burning itching in it.
In urticaria it's important to find out the cause, most of the times it is short term , and no reason may be found, but common causes are food allergy, insect bites, drug allergy, any type of source of infection in body like sore throat, burning micturation, worms, viral infection .and if long term urticaria is there , e.g. for more than 2 months than other causes like autoimmune thyroid disorder should be ruled out.
In treatment take antihistamines like levocetrizine 10mg at night time for at least 2 weeks and than if needed,
also empirically you can give albendazole 400mg stat for worms
