Suggest Treatment For Swelling And Inflammation On The Eyelid
So last Friday I had gone for a swim and later that night I noticed a slight swelling on my upper eyelid close to the corner of my eye (the corner close to my nose). The next morning the swelling became worse, and I went to the local ER. They told me that it was not a sty, but it was the inflammation of a tear duct and apparently it was because of the pool I swam in. They prescribed some antibiotic eyedrops (four times a day for 3 days) and I took them everyday. My eye condition still has not improved and I am very worried; it looks more like a rounded bump now. I am not sure what I can do now, are there any other treatments? (I don t want to resort to surgery yet).
If there is no improvement in the symptoms then you should go to be reviewed, either at your doctor's office or at ER again.
Surgery may not be needed but a different course of antibiotics may be required so that the infection can be resolved. You may need topical and oral antibiotics but this would depend on what is seen when you are reviewed.
I hope this helps
