Suggest Treatment For Streptococcus Infection

I have tested positive for streptococcus. With it I have huge pustules on my right tonsil in my throat. They cause my to gag at times and are quite annoying. Is there a way I can get rid of them or do I just have to wait it out and let the Amoxycillin do its work?

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain Streptococcus infection which is causing you sore throat, pain, swollen tonsils with pus pockets is occurring as a result of it is a bacterial infection and treatment of bacterial infection is done with antibiotics and Amoxicillin is one of the commonest Penicillin group of antibiotics used to treat Streptococcal infection..

In case of severe infection leading to inflammation which are causing all these symptoms you need to take a complete course of antibiotics for a period of at least 7 to 10 days to provide relief.

You should continue taking the antibiotic and follow a few other treatments and remedies for faster recovery..

In case of pain you can take Over the counter anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen to get relieved from pain and inflammation..

Do warm saline gargles..

Throat lozenges one taken every 4 to 5 hours can be relieving..

Boil half a tea spoon of turmeric with a glass of milk and taken bed time for 5 days can be relieving as it has antiseptic properties..

Drink plenty of water preferably luke warm to maintain hydration and luke warm provides reilef in throat..

Avoid spicy and hard or rough foods..

Take a soft diet..

In case the inflammation is not considerably reduced a short course of steroids can be taken..

Hope you get well soon..
