Suggest Treatment For Strep Throat
Good evening. I have had a sore throat for the past couple of days. I also recently had a sexual encounter during that time (I didn t think the sore throat was anything of concern). I then went to the clinic and found out I have strep throat. What is the likelihood of me passing on the bacteria/infection to my partner? I engaged in oral sex on him and rimming on him. He is circumscized. I m worried he ll get sick.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have strep throat after doing oral sex with your partner which seems to be due to poor maintenance of genital hygiene as there is infection in throat leading to Strep throat. It could be due to bacterial infection of upper respiratory tract as well. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to start with warm saline gargles and betadine gargles 3-4 times a day. For pain and swelling you should take ibuprofen or acetaminophen. You should use condoms as preventive measure while doing oral sex. Consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis and rule out condition like strep throat and viral infection . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics along with decongestants and anti inflammatory . Avoid hot, sharp , spicy food substances , do warm saline rinses and carbonated beverages.
